Sea Days..
I've decided to post sea days in groups - cause honestly not much happens, it's a very relaxing time - unless something noteworthy happens I'm gonna be brief with the descriptions.
At Sea Day 2 - The ship is so familiar to me that I'm feeling all nostalgic for the previous cruise in 2008! There's very little difference between the Sun Princess and the Dawn Princess.. so I know where everything is - haven't gotten lost once! Met up this morning with a bunch of people from the Cruise Critic forum for the trip - it was nice to put faces to the names! Everyone seemed to get along quite well - people had numerous computer questions for me, but that's par for the course. It's 8pm as I type this, we just passed Double-Island point. It was interesting earlier this afternoon passing Morteon Island and the Glass House Mountains - odd to see Moreton from the other side! The food is awesome - as with the last cruise, so far my favourite is the pizza place! I WISH I could find a place in Brisbane that did Pizzas this nice! Dave got his luggage late last night - the tags had come off, so he had to go down and pick it out from the other 40-50 pieces of luggage that were untagged (it did have his name on it.. so they didn't look at it too hard to find out who it belonged to!).
At Sea Day 3 - Finally has some sunny weather today! it was a wonderful sunny day, only a few clouds on the horizon - it's getting warmer too - we passed Rockhampton late yesterday and were well on our way past Mackay this evening. It was the first formal night tonight, we all skipped it though, we're still just getting used to being on the ship and could do without getting dressed up. Watched our first movie on the MUTS system (Movies Under the Stars) - it was really good - big screen over the pool area, nice comfy chairs, popcorn, warm blankets. Dave has had a sore back the last couple of days and decided to try Acupuncture - worked wonders for his back, he's going to go again in a few days. Oh - another thing I should mention, the Internet seems quite a bit better than the cruise on the Sun Princess - and they've dropped the pricing significantly (not sure if it's just for the world cruise or not, but I'm liking it!).
At Sea Day 4 - Nice day again today.. passed Cairns and heading up towards Cape York! We're getting together our shopping list for Darwin - the ship is great, but doesn't have everything we want (or at least it doesn't have it at a reasonable price!)
Took this Pic this morning - there's a surprising (at least to me) amount of shipping in this area approaching the turn around Cape York.
