Arriving not long after dawn, we tied up right in the centre of Valetta! the cruise terminal was quite large, 2 big cruise ships in there today.

Malta |
Our trip today is taking us over to Gozo island (one of the islands in malta).
|
Shoving 30 Aussies into seating made for 30 midgets |
Right from the beginning something didn't feel right - we were crammed onto a little boat, ok - fine - 45mins on a small boat was ok, until the boat driver decided to go as fast as possible - the boat was slamming onto the wake of other boats, everyone looked a little concerned.
|
The boat was up on about a 20 degree angle.. was a bit dicey |
Anyway - after 45mins of a bit of a stressful boat trip we turned up on the island. There we found the 4wd vehicles (see picture).
|
There were actually holes rusted through the floor.. |
Not only were they rusted out, ours had no speedo, and the driver kept snuffing the engine. It wasn't a lot of fun - very jerky and I think she managed to hit every bump, Seriously not fun.
Anyway we toured around the island and eventually stopped for lunch - it was very, very average - didn't think much of it at all.
Then they dropped us at a beach and told us the boats would pick us up in half an hour. Joy - so there was NO shade, unless you wanted to pay to rent a shade. Anyway the boats arrive and we go to get on - but the driver decides he wants us to stand in the sun and wait till 'everyone is here to get on' - not something you want to tell 20 Aussies standing around in the sun when you're boat has a shade. Anyway after much complaints we finally got to sit and wait in the shade.
I thought the trip over was bad - the trip back left both Dave and myself barely able to walk with sore backs.
The worst part was that this was the most expensive trip we've done so far - more than A$200 each.
