Made it! Phew..
Well after a very cramped plane flight, with lots of turblance and somewhat less than pleasent fellow travellers we arrived at Sydney Airport amongst the throngs of people attending world youth day - it was standing room only! not much fun at all..
Even less fun was being told that we didn't have a booking for the 'transfer' from the plane to the dock. Great start hey?
On the plus side - the taxi we got actually got us to the dock well before everyone else (I think it took more than 2 hours for the people from the airport to arrive after us). Dave ventured into Sydney while Marylyn and I sat near the ship - he managed to locate a Tesltra shop to fix his phone problems - that done he finally turned off his work phone!!! (first time in years! literally).
We actually boarded the ship quite early and found our Mini-suite - it's quite nicely appointed, bar fridge, flatscreen tv (a tad small with no AV hookups unfortunately). Nice and close to the lifts.
All in all after the inital screwing around and the whole standing-room-only airport - everything went smoothly through customs. We met Robert, our room steward, he seems quite nice and attentive - got our glass of Champaign and sail away is in 3 or 4 hours.
We're just about to go out and explore the ship a little..
