Auckland.. land of the long black cloud and lots of rain..
Well we arrvied in Auckland at 10am, to wind and rain and temperatures around 15C.
The ride in last night seemed a little rough as we left the Tasman Sea and reached the Pacific. Although I'm told that the seas will be a lot bigger as we get out into the Pacific.
We didn't have any tours planned in Auckland, so we simply went for a walk into the city - since the place we docked at was IN the city, that made it a lot easier! Ended up spending a few hundred dollars on books and DVDs (in preperation for the next sea day that's rainy/windy/etc). Got a few titles that I'd been looking for on DVD (TV series boxed sets/etc) and a few new novels to read (for once I deplete the ships library).
Bought a few other things, nothing special or big - we pretty much have everything we need already.
They brought on board a bunch of dancers/etc from Auckland (a historical type troop) and we had a nice little show in the Theatre of Native Maouri dancing (inluding a Haka :)
Tonight as we head north at 21 knots we should reach the same lattitude as Brisbane (early tomorrow morning) - so hopefully we'll be back into fine and hot Weather.
I'm the only one in the Library tonight, I think everyone else must be tired after their excursions/etc.
