Saturday 27th of July - At sea!! (Rescue)

OK - so it looks like we'll miss our port tomorrow in Curaco - We started to backtrack our course about 4 hours ago at full speed - a small ship sent out a distress signal - it was taking on water.

Four hours later we've just arrived  (it's 11pm), the small ship sank - we were the closest ship that could mount a rescue.  The crew is putting the rescue boats in the water as I type and they're going to pick up the people out of their life rafts.

I'll post more updates when we get more info.

Edit - 11:45pm  - Ok - so the crew picked up 3 people off the sunken ship - there were 3 other ships in the area - along with a maritime rescue plane.  It was an interesting thing to experience.  I think everyone on the ship turned out (I swear the ship was listing to one side with everyone on that side hanging over the rails watching).
