Sunday 14th of July 2019 - Reykjavik (Iceland)
View from the Cabin |
Damn it was cold!!! Obvious I suppose, but I would equate summer as temperatures higher than 10C.
We first drove out to Thingvellir national park - basically it's where the North American tetonic plate and the European plate erupt out of the ground - it's a several kilometer wide rift valley, with tetonic plates on each side.
Waterfalls and Gysers followed!
Strokkut Geyser |
Golden Waterfall |
We had a lunch near whats called the "Golden Waterfall".
Dave at the power plant |
Iceland is bigger than I expected, so many large open spaces with little foliage - just a slightly raised road.
Had a good day, it was a very nice place to visit.
Sunset tonight is 11:30PM - Sunrise tomorrow is 3:30am. Still can't get used to the long days.
