Sea Day - heading north..
Well we left Auckland a little late last night - we got a new Captian (he was coming back from Holiday as I understand - British fellow, much easier to understand over the speakers than the Italian guy!). We're about even with Brisbane at the moment, still heading north, should be up around Rockhampton level by tomorrow morning. Every lunchtime the Captian gives us an update on the ships condition/etc - I was wondering at the deep blue colour of the ocean, it's very vivid - turns out that the depth of the water we're in is around 4000m (4kms!!).
It was rainy and wet again all day today - reasonable amount of waves.. at the moment it's kind of like being on a train, a little back and forth rather rythmically.
Dave and Marylyn enjoyed themselves at some Trivia games and such today - I spent much of the morning listening to a lecture from an expert on the islands we'll be visiting in the next week - he was a very colourful fellow, interesting to listen to - I think I'll be attending more of his lecturers in the coming days.
I'll try to upload a few photos tomorrow - I forgot to get the ones from Auckland off the camera!
