1/7/2010 - Venice, Italy (Easy Venitian Lagoon Cruise)

If there's one place that you have to visit via cruise ship - Venice is it! Sailing in was spectacular, you sail down one of the main "Streets" of Venice - I had St Marks square go past my window as we sailed in!
Our tour today was a cruise around the Venitian Lagoon! it was quite relaxing and gave us a good overview of the city. It's quite an amazing place - in normal cities people have cars, here they have boats! There are the usual numerous churches/etc and tons and tons of tourists!! They have a well-organised system for boats, clearly marked lanes to travel in and even petrol stations!
Venice is an interesting city, the sail out the next day was as nice as the sail in.

The colds are almost gone - I hesitate to say they are gone, cause on a ship this size it's easy to pick up whatever is going around - even if you're cautious about washing hands/etc.

I'll try to catch up a little more today as well - gotta make the most of the sea days!
