3/7/2010 - Dubrovnik, Croatia (Easy Dubrovnik / Cavtat)
Dubrovnik was one of the real suprises for me on this trip - I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but it really blew me away. Dubrovnik and Cavtat are a couple of small towns nestled against a mountain range in Croatia - they had some damage back in the 90s during the civial wars in this area, but it all appears to have been fixed up.
The water was lovely and clean, so was the air, the countryside was quite spectacular.
Cavtat appeared to be a small "resort" type town, while Dubrovnik is walled city, the walls were built in the 13th century and the place has a wonderful feel to it.
We were treated to a local folk dance, which was quite impressive considering the mid-30 degree temperatures, it was hot just sitting in the shade watching the performers, I'm amazed none of them collapsed!
The sail out was lovely and it was a very pleasent visit!
