29/6/2010 - Santorini, Greece
Santorini is an interesting place, most of the town is on the rim of the caldera of a Volcano! Aparantly around 1600BC there was a massive volcanic eruption and some archeologists think that it gave birth of the myth of Atlantis. It's a very picturesque place with blue seas and more vegitation than you'd think.
The ship anchored the the main island, off in the distance you can still see the centre of the volcanic crater forming it's own little island. I'd suggest looking it up on Google earth - that should give you a good idea of the layout.
The houses clustered around the edges of the volcanic rim are quite impressive - although I'm not sure how I'd feel living perched up there!
